Guide of Wifi, Bluetooth, Zigbee application on the Internet of Things

1.      E103-W02  Wifi module

E103-W02 module is developed based on TI's CC3200.The module integrates the transparent transmission function, which isready-to-use. It supports the serial AT command set. Users can access thenetwork through the serial port. It has been widely used in wearable devices,home automation, home security, personal health care, smart home appliances,accessories and remote control, automotive, lighting, industrial Internet andother fields.

E103-W02 module supports the standardIEEE802.11b/g/n protocol and the complete TCP/IP protocol stack. It supportsSTA/AP working mode, supports SmartConfig, serial port transparenttransmission, and boot transparent transmission. It is very simple afterconfiguration. Convenient network access to minimize developer work and projectdevelopment time.

E103-W02 is an ultra-low power serial to Wi-Fimodule, small package size, PCB antenna, working in the 2.4~2.484GHz frequencyband. The module can use the serial port for data transmission and reception,which reduces the threshold of wireless applications.

2.   E104-BT02 BT module

E104-BT02 module is developed based on Dialog'sDA14580. It is a cost-effective 1mW (0dBm) serial to BLE module, small-volumeSMD package, PCB on-board antenna, working in the 2.4GHz band.

The module integrates the transparent transmissionfunction, the master-slave integration, that is, ready to use. Support serialport command configuration module parameters and functions, widely used inwearable devices, home automation, home security, personal health care, smarthome appliances, accessories and remote control, automotive, lighting,industrial Internet, etc., modules with high stability and ultra low Sleeppower consumption, the slave mode minimum operating current is less than 3uA(turn on the broadcast function), and the button battery can be powered. Datatransmission is stable and efficient. In slave mode, it supports a datatransmission function with a maximum baud rate of 19,200 bps. It is a veritabledata transmission module.

The E104-BT02 module supports the standardBluetooth V4.1 protocol. After simple configuration, it can establish aconnection with any host that complies with the Bluetooth 4.1 protocol toachieve transparent transmission of serial data. The module supportsmaster-slave role configuration, which can realize the point-to-point connectionbetween the master and slave modules to achieve fast data transmission.Minimize developer work and project development time.


3.    E18   Zigbee module

E18-MS1PA1-IPX is an active and small 2.4GHzwireless module designed and manufactured by Ebyte Electronics Co., Ltd., witha transmission power of 100mW, (pin pitch 1.27mm), transceiver unit; modulecomes with IPEX RF interface. The module is currently in stable production andis suitable for a variety of application scenarios (especially smart home).

E18-MS1PA1-IPX adopts afull set of TI solutions. The CC2530 RF chip imported from  Texas Instruments (TI) company in the UnitedStates. It integrates 8051 microcontroller and wireless transceiver, and issuitable for ZigBee design and 2.4GHz IEEE 802.15.4 protocol. The module leadsall the IO ports of the microcontroller and can be developed in multipledirections. The module has a power amplifier chip CC2592, which increases thewireless communication distance. Applicable to secondary development,factory-programmed self-organizing network program, can be used directly,support serial port transceiver.


4、Smarthome application

Smart homecommunication generally uses Wifi, Bluetooth, Zigbee. Our mobile phone, tabletcan communicate digitally via Bluetooth and Wifi access. The computer can passWifi.

In thissolution, both Bluetooth and Wifi can be used as the access point of thedevice. Even if there is no professional Zigbee controller, you can accessthese common devices through Bluetooth and Wifi, and finally control anotheraccess module and Zigbee through the serial port of master device.

5. Wifi to actas the access point:

E103-W02 can be used as an AP server at this time.After the device is connected, it can connect to the specified server to sendcommunication and control commands. E103-W02 will output the command throughthe serial port, and can control the action of the Bluetooth module through theserial port forwarding. It can also control the Zigbee part. At the same time,it can also receive the returned data through the serial port, accept thereturn value of the communication, and realize the function of query andmonitoring. . (E103-W02 can also access the home router through STA mode, sothat it can directly connect to the router Wifi and connect with the moduleserver resume, which can also realize the function)

6. Bluetooth toact as the access point:

The E104-BT02 is used in the same way as the Wifimodule. The access point can be accessed through the Bluetooth device, and themobile phone and tablet can access the entire system (some PCs with Bluetoothcan also be used). E104-BT02 is used as the command relay device of the system.Through the serial port forwarding of the MCU, the handheld device cancommunicate with the Wifi device and the Zigbee node.

7. Summary

In summary, the three modules of E104-BT02,E103-W02, and E18 can be used together. The construction of the smart homeframework can be realized, and with the use of smart appliances in reality, theconcept of smart home becomes more realistic.
